Buddies Pairing a non-disabled student with a disabled student can be beneficial to teachers many ways. It can reduce teacher's stress because they know those students will someone monitoring them while they are not. A student's buddy can also help alert the teacher if there are any problems and can help with everyday tasks, assignments, and activities.
Modified Lesson Plans Modified lesson plans gives disabled students the opportunity to grasp and learn the same material being taught in the classroom, but adds extra resources. For example, they may have more time to finish, an aid to help them, or less is required while still implementing the same standard of work.
Expressing Strengths Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses. Children in preschool may not realize that at their age. Teachers should help them to understand that everyone is different. People look different, like different things, and learn different. By learning students strengths teachers can find out the best way to teach their students.
Parental Support It is very important for the teacher and the parent to work together in providing the best education for their student. Communication can be the key to expressing strengths and weaknesses that need to be addressed inside the classroom and/or at the child's home.
